Rebellious 16-year-old Sherry is fascinated by the message of  S*P*A*R*K (Street People Armed with Radical Knowledge), who seem nothing more than a benevolent self-help association. Transfixed by its charismatic adult leader, Harry, Sherry joins the group on its exciting road trip from Berlin to their refuge in Portugal. But something goes wrong: her mum, Laurie, follows her across Europe, finally catches up with them and decides to join the group. Puzzled by her mother\\\\\\\'s sudden devotion, Sherry begins to doubt the messages of her beloved and fear-inspiring leader. She has to make a difficult choice: to stay in the cult, where she has friendship, security, and the chance of a new relationship with her mother, or to stand up for what she really believes.
