A tale of three heroines of everyday life, this is a moving and very funny film about three cleaning ladies in Berlin and their search for happiness. They are in their 40s and 50s and it is them who give Berlin its shine.Ingeborg is pretty, lonely and unemployed. Always struggling for a sense of purpose in her life, she is searching for a new cleaning job as well as for a man by her side. Both are very hard to find. Gisela - a Berlin original - is the *clown* in the cleaning brigade, whose job it is to make Berlin*s poshest shopping mall emerge spotless each morning. At home, Gisela experiences the well-ordered routine of a 35 year-old marriage, which is nonetheless a touching true love story. Delia left Argentina as a young woman dreaming of becoming a successful painter in Europe. For twelve years, she has been cleaning the penthouses and lofts of well-to-do Berliners. Torn apart between the pride of being a good cleaning-lady and the feeling of a betraying her dreams she is coping with life in the German capital.
