Her memories and her own imagination mingle and we never know how much is history and how much the fiction of her romantic fantasy. In the real world, Sophie makes a living as a human statue, standing still for hours for the amusement of passing tourists. As do her two dear flatmates, Buffalo and Malik. She is in love with both, the adventurous and audacious Buffalo, and Malik, a rather shy, poetic and naive person.
